About

About this tool

Large images are the most common reason small-business websites load slowly, and slow pages lose visitors and rankings. This compressor re-encodes your JPG, PNG and WebP files at the quality you choose and can resize them to a maximum width or height — most photos straight from a phone are far bigger than any website needs.

Everything runs in your browser using the Canvas API: images never leave your device, there is no upload limit and no sign-up. Drop in as many files as you like and see the original and compressed size, dimensions and percentage saved for each one, with a side-by-side preview.

For photos, a quality of 70–80% is usually indistinguishable from the original. PNG is lossless, so shrinking it means resizing or converting to WebP. If a file would come out larger (common with images that are already optimised), the tool gives you the original back instead.
