About

About this tool

Click-through rate (CTR) is the share of people who click after seeing your ad, search result or email. It's clicks divided by impressions, shown as a percentage: 300 clicks from 10,000 impressions is a 3% CTR.

CTR is an early signal of relevance. A low CTR usually means the message doesn't match the audience or the search intent, and on Google Ads it can also pull down your Quality Score and push up what you pay per click. A high CTR is only good news if those clicks go on to convert.

Use reverse mode to plan: enter the impressions you expect and the CTR you're aiming for to see how many clicks that should bring. The comparison ranges are broad typical figures; your industry, placement and offer will move them a lot.
